LIAM BAILEY
MANAGING PARTNER
Liam Bailey is the Managing Partner at O’Brien Palmer, with over 17 years of expertise in business advisory, insolvency, and restructuring. As a Registered Liquidator and Trustee in Bankruptcy, Liam plays a critical role in guiding companies and individuals through complex financial difficulties and ensuring fair and effective resolution of insolvency cases. His dual expertise in managing distressed businesses and overseeing liquidation processes underpins O’Brien Palmer’s reputation for excellence in navigating financial complexities.
In addition to his role at O’Brien Palmer, Liam serves as a Member of the NSW/ACT Divisional Committee of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA), where he contributes to shaping industry standards and advocating for best practices in insolvency and restructuring. His leadership at ARITA reflects his commitment to advancing the profession and supporting ethical practices within the field.
Liam holds a Law Degree from Macquarie University and a Post Graduate qualification in accounting from Deacon University. His approach combines strategic insight with a thorough understanding of insolvency laws, making him a trusted advisor for both clients and industry peers.
CHRISTOPHER PALMER
PARTNER
Chris is a Registered Liquidator and a Trustee in Bankruptcy with over 40 years’ experience in both corporate and personal insolvency. Over the years, he has been exposed to almost every industry sector acting either formally as a insolvency practitioner or as a business consultant.
DANIEL FRISKEN
PARTNER
Daniel is a Registered Liquidator with 16 years of experience in corporate insolvency. He has a widespread of knowledge and experience in his profession focusing on formal appointments throughout his career, being voluntary administrations, liquidations as well as receiverships. Daniel has undertaken appointments in the industry sectors of construction, hospitality, retail, property and manufacturing.
AHMED SOWAID

Ahmed is a Registered Liquidator with more than two decades of experience in corporate insolvency. Throughout his professional career as an insolvency practitioner, Ahmed has provided corporate insolvency and turnaround advice to corporations of all sizes (ranges from SME market to larger corporations) and various industries – automotive, aviation, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, professional services and retail, to name a few. Having graduated with both a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) as well as a Bachelor of Laws, Ahmed has a firm understanding of the Australian Corporations Law and its application to insolvency, which gives him an edge in navigating distressed financial situations and achieving a positive outcome from a practical as well as a legal stand-point.
